BLACK INDIA PALE ALE (7.2%)

BLACK VICE

about the beer

Beer and coffee are in fact very similar. Dating back to ancient Ethiopia, the origin of coffee is intertwined with beer and brewing. Chemically, the presence of Maillard products (see our Bromium description) in the roasting of beans and malts creates the sugary taste and darkening of colour in both coffee and beer. They also share volatile compounds like ketones and esters, contributing to distinct fruity flavors. Crafted with precision, Black Vice promises a rich and complex flavour profile that delights the senses of enthusiasts. Indulge in the allure of these addictive vices, but remember they are best enjoyed in moderation, lest you depend on the turn of a friendly brew.

Our Process

how it's made?

This dark malt driven tropical IPA was brewed with a combination of 6 different speciality malts, precisely selected to form a dark ale malt profile (chocolate, coffee, toast) and jet black colour yet no astringency or harshness. Tropical and piney flavours from Cascade and Citra hops were complimented with use of Luxx coffee blend from Black Vice Roasters which adds notes of guava, apricot and pineapple, enhancing the tropical bouquet of aromas and flavours in this dark yet refreshing Black IPA.
